Why it matters
Hospital estates are complex. Getting to the right place shouldn't be.
The problem
- Complex, multi-building estates that are hard to describe in text or on a paper map.
- Fragmented information split across letters, signage, car parks and reception desks.
- Accessibility barriers that are only discovered after a patient has already set off.
The outcome we work towards
- A clearer, calmer journey from appointment letter to check-in desk.
- Fewer avoidable direction enquiries and missed or late arrivals.
- Governed, up-to-date destinations, closures and diversions across every site.
How it works
From appointment letter to check-in desk
A single, governed journey that starts before the patient leaves home and continues until they reach the right door.
Prepare before travel
Patients see travel, parking and entrance information tied to their appointment type before they leave home.
Navigate from arrival
A QR code or entrance link starts indoor navigation from wherever the patient actually is.
Reach the right check-in
Step-by-step or accessible-route directions lead to the correct clinic, ward or check-in point.
Improve with insight
Privacy-preserving, aggregated patterns help Trusts see where journeys break down and fix them.

Evidence over hype
We evaluate what changes, and publish results honestly
Evidence status: Hospital WayfinderIQ is currently in discovery and pilot conversations with NHS Trusts. Where a pilot completes an evaluation period, results will be published on the Resources hub with the study period, sample and method stated alongside the result.
Every pilot follows a baseline-and-evaluation approach: agree what “good” looks like locally, measure a defined baseline, implement in a bounded pathway, and report the outcome — including what did not work.
Our evaluation method
- 1. Agree the priority pathway and baseline.
- 2. Deploy in a bounded pilot with a defined evidence plan.
- 3. Measure against the baseline over an agreed period.
- 4. Publish results with method, sample and limitations.
Built for NHS integration
Complements the systems your Trust already runs
Hospital WayfinderIQ is designed to sit alongside the NHS App, NHS Notify, PAS/EPR and local patient portals rather than replace them.
- NHS App
- NHS Notify
- PAS / EPR
- Trust identity & assurance
A route is only useful if the person can use it.
Accessibility is a product capability, not a cosmetic mode. Route preferences are built from functional needs — step-free travel, lift avoidance, rest points and verified estate attributes — and we target WCAG 2.2 AA across the whole site.
